They are good at making money. That's what
the world's tycoons do. That's what they do, and that's what they seek. They have all the wealth, and they tell you how we're going to enlarge it and how we're going to increase it. That's what they seek
with Russia. Russia has a significant amount of wealth and oil reserves.
They tell you that they'll take it all on their own. They'll become a superpower. We'll get in too.
Let's have a nuclear war. We'll hide in the shelters.
The people will trample on it. They'll get killed, and we'll come out and be the richest people.
That's how they think. It's the bad agriculture of the Gospels. But the Holy Elder Vasily Kapsokalyvitis has said
that none of those who enter such nuclear shelters
will come out alive. They will close them because that's where
the rights of the land will operate. They will be lost in what they themselves
created and will never see the light again. They will remain in the depths and in the
darkness that the devil, Satan, has created for them in hell.
Why? Why did they not put man above all? They put self-interest above all.
And what does this mean that they expelled God, who spoils their plans?
Christ spoils. And now, let's move on to the next thing. Because we see why
Christ says he spoils their plans. Because Christ is the sovereign, the creator
of the universe, but he is the humble one.
He is the one who distributes, and they say, "You know something, my Christians, when you
go, when we leave this world, the wealth that we will carry
is from what we gave, not from what we took." Pay attention. The wealth that
Father Panagiotis was talking about. The bricks we collect are from what we give
from our offering to our neighbor. This is important. The neighbor is at the
door. It is the gate to heaven. Not to poets. We don't always have to
give, you know, we have put charity, and that is ugly.
We have included charity in the money. Charity is the friend of man.
Be a friend to the grandmother who is alone at 90 years old. The despot, the
bishop of Nea Smyrni, went. Chrysostom, the first bishop of Nea
Smyrni would go in the evenings instead of sitting in his little house, sleeping.
So he would go and sit and serve as a nurse
to the people who had no one, the needy, at the Evangelismos, in the
hospitals. He would go and catch the young people in Exarchia, in their hangouts, and
talk to them about Christ. With a summer cap, he would go and
find them. This was a mission. He would not eat at home
. Let's do one by one, so you can see the difference between a Christian. He would not eat at home
. He would tell his priests to find me the poor of your parish and
I would go to their homes. And so he would go full of stands. He would take
meat; he would take all the food that the
family needed. He would go with two or three bags and say, my children, I leave you this
food. Tomorrow I will come to eat with you. And after he had felt the pain of others.
This is charity. He would listen to them, he would comfort them.
He would tell them that he is a father, and I am here.
This is the role of the priest and the bishop. They are not different.
The priest and the bishop are not behind the offices doing administrative
acts. Administration belongs to others. It is a different field. The priest, the
bishop, is a man; he is a missionary.
Of course, we made him a paid missionary. He doesn't exist.
