so shall i read the questions in no no no just an just
answer in greek or in english how easy for you
easy i will answer in greek first and then i will say in english per and you
choose what you want any part so the first question the first question is
communion with god the subject of the first question is communion with god
monastic life and overcoming anxiety and depression and me the first question is how communion with
god manifests itself in monastic life and how can this experience to be transmitted or
understood by those who are outside
the monastery so here we say that the gospel is the same for the
laity and for the monks
and communion with
God in Christians is achieved in
the following way in the following ways first of all man must
believe in god in the true god he must believe who is the true god
the true god is the holy trinity and how do we know that there is
a true god because it is revealed to man it has been revealed to man
and that is how we know that it exists what God reveals reveals its light ever its essence the light
God reveals and we know from the light that it exists as now we have this light
of the sun so also from the light of the sun we know that there is a sun thus and
when god reveals his light we know that god exists now the
communion with god how is god in the first place when he was revealed in the past
covenant to the people he revealed the Christ incarnate
spoke to the prophets of the old testaments and conveyed to them the will of the
father the will of God i.e. Christ conveyed it to the prophets and the prophets conveyed the will of God to the
people thus evident when God in the old testament and Christ spoke to the
prophets and the prophets spoke to the people then the one who spoke to the
prophets in the old testament who was christ again the second person the son of god he came and became a man through the virgin he took flesh
the virgin gave him flesh and became a man and he is the christ i.e.
christ is god in the form of a man and christ has two natures the divine
nature which he never left and the human i.e. he also took the
human nature apart from the divine which had and so Christ has in himself
in his person united united united united the divine and human natures
asynchronous there is no confusion between these two natures and he has because
he has two natures he has two wills the divine and the human and always
Christ submits to the divine will so therefore
we have the god who became man and the god who became man
why did he become man because of
charity to give life to people who could not to
defeat death, death in the old testament could not be defeated,
so Christ comes, becomes a man, is crucified , dies on the cross, he defeats death with his resurrection and
by virtue of the resurrection of Christ, because Christ was resurrected, we will all be resurrected, he gives us the possibility to be resurrected, but there is
a resurrection of the soul and a resurrection of the body, the resurrection of the body of the
dead body of man will happen to all people, it will happen in the common
resurrection which will happen in the the coming of jesus christ the second
presence here in this life but can a man be resurrected if
his soul has died to be resurrected and receive life again because there is also death of the soul and to understand what
death of the soul means we will say a few words about the fall of man into paradise and god created man
adam and eve and put them in an orchard called paradise and there
he gave them a commandment with which they had to guard and the violation of this
commandment gave them a command to show them that they are buildings that they are dependent and the violation of this commandment would bring death to man
not that god would give death to man god did not give death to
man man chose death by the disobedience he did so
man disobeyed adam i.e. god and eve death entered their lives how did
this happen with disobedience left the grace of the holy spirit from Adam and Eve and died with the
soul because the body is inextricably bound to the soul this is the nature of
man and the death of the soul transmitted death to the body and the
body because it died and began to turn and die it
also transmits through sexual intercourse to the offspring death and thus death in man
continues to this day therefore God seeing this state of
man that everyone was going in hell they could not defeat death out of
charity he becomes a man and as we said through the cross and the resurrection he defeats death and gives us the possibility to defeat
death too how now a person today who believes in god and is
baptized is a baptized orthodox christian
but he sins but he sins he probably has this tendency to sin because it is the original the
original sin with the original sin that is the disobedience in our heaven has us has put into our nature this tendency
to sin, so man unfortunately and after his baptism
because he has this tendency and tendency to sin he sins and they sin
and grace leaves his soul and how will this soul be healed now again
to find the original state the healthy state because
man with sin and the passions that sin creates which
are the illness of his soul these lead him to a spiritual death from
this spiritual death how can one be resurrected now this is done by
repentance because Christ founded our church and gave us the possibility
to repent and the first the first word of the honorable forerunner when he came and when he approached the Jews in the
desert of the jordan do you repent because the kingdom of
God is coming the same word the same phrase the same a phrase Christ also said at the beginning of
his teaching, it is understood why the kingdom of God has come,
what was the kingdom of God himself, was he the grace that he brought or the grace
of salvation that Christ brought to the world, so believing in Christ with
holy baptism and living with repentance having having become members of the orthodox church can the man with the
ascetic life that the church promotes as ascetic
way of life for an ascetic way of healing that man be healed of sin
and passions and slowly begin with the sacramental life and with communion
with confession and the communion of the divine body and blood of Christ slowly begin to heal and defeat the passions humble the
passions and grace begins to rise again in him as the light
slowly rises in the night and in the morning the sun rises and shines thus the
resurrection of man's soul takes place little by little with the grace of God and with his own cooperation, that is,
man must fight to obtain the health of his soul
and this healing is a synergy of God and man so we
now have man today who is sick in general
because he is sick because passions and sin act in his life and
this because because he has escaped from the orthodox tradition from this tradition
of purifying his soul through the life of the church and the ascetic
life and we come here to the subject of the first question which says that there is
anxiety and depression in people sin and passions in
man because they create this anxiety and depression because why
does the grace of God leave the soul and when the grace of God leaves the soul
the grace of God is this which gives life to the soul when the grace of
God departs from the soul to the extent that grace leaves the soul of
man in a similar measure man begins and experiences the death of
his soul and anxiety the nature of anxiety and depression what is anxiety
what is it fear of death i.e. God's grace leaves the
soul man begins to experience and taste hell because life leaves him and his creates anxiety, fears
spiritual death first and then physical death, so the fear of spiritual death and physical death is the
cause of anxiety which cause of anxiety this fear
i.e. how it is overcome now by man is overcome by
repentance but in order for repentance to come to man he must have believed in God,
be baptized in the church and actively live the life of the church,
i.e. have a spiritual guide, confess, receive communion and little by little
with his ascetic struggle he overcomes his passions and the grace of God helps him and
slowly he is resurrected his soul and thus through the struggle this struggle
is based on faith in Christ because if he does not have faith
a man cannot do all this to live with repentance so this
faith and life is his life the life according to the teaching of the church
and the gospel that the Christian lives this life slowly as
we said resurrects him and restores his life within him and
the saints have reached a complete overcoming of anxiety and it does not exist,
the saints live, life has entered into them, their souls have been resurrected,
the purpose of life is to resurrect our souls from here before
our death, the biological one, that is, the Christian must be resurrected
to resurrect his soul from here with the help of the church and
with the sacraments and prayer and the life of repentance, we will say these things
so that he can experience the resurrection of his soul and return to the state he was in
Adam had before the fall, this is the so-called natural state, this
is the state reached by the saints, the saints, therefore, because they have been
resurrected, their souls have been resurrected by the grace of God. They do not have any anxiety, they do not have any depression, they have joy because
it is the grace of God that dwells
within them permanently.
anxiety and at the same time they have joy, of course they have a
treponema or there is a turning in the
human soul from joy to fatness from sadness to joy but it is in the saints it is very small but this turning is very small while for us because we have not
defeated death and hell in the morning due to anxiety and
depression this turning of the soul from sadness to joy is very great
and how how do we overcome this anxiety and depression now we said that with
the life of repentance with participation in the life of the church we also did not say the
other two that in order to overcome anxiety and depression a person must
absolutely believe in Christ and pray pray and
study study the gospel and the fathers of the church study
the lives of the saints the paternal texts so that
this hope of the resurrection and the hope of from his transition to the
kingdom of God, so a person must also have a life of prayer if
he wants to overcome anxiety and depression, to believe in living with
repentance and praying and at the same time to have a sacramental life, so this is the life of the Christian in general, now the monk
has this way of life as his main task, while the
layman does not have it as his main task because the layman has a family, he
has a job and other tasks that are not he can devote his time completely to the
time of the day, the layman does not devote it completely to study and to
prayer and to communication with God, so communion with God is
mainly through prayer and St. Paul recommends, the
apostle Paul recommends to pray without ceasing, that is, to pray continuously
, what does this mean to pray constantly, it means to have the memory of God, to keep it in the back of our mind
and in the in our hearts the memory of God, i.e. what we heard
in church, what we read, let us constantly recreate and preserve the memory of God within us, this is a secret prayer
, and yes, if we can also work on mental prayer, which is
a higher form of prayer than the logical prayer we do in
church, all the church services are logical prayer because
it is done with the intellect, the intellect participates, but the mental prayer is
mainly done with the heart because according to the mental prayer, when mental prayer
means and in fact the monologue prayer of Jesus who is the Lord Jesus Christ, God have mercy on the sinner, this prayer when a
person says it and brings it down from the mind, from the intellect it comes down to the space
of the heart, this prayer can be done with the heart and to become
unbroken with the grace of God and when this prayer comes down to the place of
the heart and the grace of God acts then tears come to the man, the
tears of repentance which cleanse his soul of the passions and when the man receives when he acts for a long time this prayer
and God gives him the unceasing prayer of the heart as a gift of the holy
spirit then what happens the holy spirit comes and he prays here in the
space of the heart in the man and the man feels here in this space of the
heart a prayer being acted upon that is not his own so this is the
prayer of the holy spirit and then it becomes the when it acts night-day this
happens when it acts in the heart of man the prayer of the holy
spirit comes and acts here that is grace comes and acts here
and the holy spirit prays on behalf of the man then man really becomes a temple of the holy spirit, his body, that is, because with
holy baptism we are a temple of the holy spirit, but in power, that is, because
we gave holy baptism to the mole with passions and sin, they are messed up, grace
is messed up inside, and with repentance and tears, this debris is cleaned by the soul little by little, and when it is cleaned one by one, the soul and
God wants to give us this prayer, that is please the god from
our life gives us this prayer in the heart of the holy spirit where
the holy spirit prays permanently inside the man and then the man
begins and morning prayer gives him joy gives him peace gives him a state where
there is neither anxiety nor depression nor anything so this is the main
work of the monk but because the gospel is the same for laymen and monks and the layman can achieve this state
of uninterrupted heart prayer is a little more difficult but it can be
achieved and there are lay people who have achieved this so we answer here the first question how is communion with
God manifested in the monastic life this communion with God in the monastic life is manifested by
prayer and by study and by the constant memory of
God that man must maintain within himself and how does
man lose the memory of God as when he turns to the world when he turns on his cell phone when he watches television when he starts worldly talk and
his mind leaves God and he starts talking about things of the world,
the memory of God leaves and then he has to come back and find it again and
struggle to find it again the memory of God and then he says how this experience can be transmitted and be understood by those who are
outside the monastery these are written what the monk lives are
written in the paternal books that is in the ascetic books church with
which they talk about mental prayer there are several texts they are all the ascetic texts the scale of the saints of Sinai is
St. Isaac the Syrian it is Philokalia it is all all the living saints
of today St. Paisius St. Sophron of Essex St. Porphyry
all have spoken about this mental prayer it is cultivated by Saint Ephraim the elder of Arizona and of Philotheo who slept
in Arizona and all of them all of them Ferme the Katunakiotis all of them spoke and worked Saint Joseph the hesychast who was our grandfather
he acted he acted literally that is he lived he
lived with mental prayer continuously day and night they cultivated this prayer and they had reached in this state to have unceasing
heart prayer and their experience which is recorded in the
texts I told you and in the lives of the saints is also in other texts can be read one by one by a layman and with the help of
his spiritual with the help of his spiritual not by himself if he can
apply any of these things if he can do that is to have a life
of prayer but with the blessing of his spiritual how will he do it and with what how he will do it and how long he will do it and all this and with which with
which with which technique it does not matter if it is other other things
he must have must be in obedience must have spiritual life have
love for Christ have conviction of Christ and then he will give him a blessing spiritual so this is the first question the other says how can the
monastic life and orthodox practice help to overcome stress and
deposition in the modern world we have said this the monastic life is a model example for the
laity as much as they can from the monastic life that the monks lead to a part to
apply this is good because he says the light of the laity is the monks and the light of the monks is the angels say the
paternals so the layman applies applies what the saints and the holy monks have said so today
and to the extent that he can but with the blessing of his spiritual he does everything
he will definitely have a guide a spiritual person cannot take an ascetic book by himself and begin to apply it this is not possible because he will
go astray he must do everything with the blessing of the spiritual so when
he follows this life of his the lay monk and the ascetic within which
is the asceticism or the ascetic act of the church in essence and this will help him to overcome anxiety and
depression and of course he wants as we said the foundations are faith in Christ and in the gospel Christ says now, take heed, Mary, what he says, he says that whoever
hears my word and believes in me has eternal life and does not come to judgment, but after death he passes from death to life, that is, he
who believes in Christ and does the commandments does not experience death,
faith does not taste death that is, in Christ, true faith makes a person
and he comes out of death directly into life, his soul does not experience death
at all, that is, as the wise saint said, the grace of God remains in the soul at the moment of death and the person
goes directly to heaven does not experience death it does not feel it does not feel that is why you see that people are saved their appearance when
they die their remains are peaceful it is as if they are sleeping so this shows that the body and the body reflects
the peace of the soul that the the saved person is the one who lives according to god and
believes in christ so those people who have peace within themselves who have reached this state of not having anxiety etc. with the grace of god
they achieve it they do not feel death because depression and anxiety
are forms of death it is a step before death the spiritual when
man enters into the life of God which does not have is which
does not have death it is the life of God it is the life of God it is life therefore anxiety and depression go away and to the extent that they experience the fourth the issue
is the understanding and acceptance of suffering and the first question is what is the
importance of suffering and sacrifice in the life of the orthodox Christian and how is
this reflected in the ascetic monastic practices
so we have the life of the Christian and the life of the world we have injustice and
the suffering in the personal life of each person and we also have the suffering and
injustice in the world to the multitudes of people let's first consider how we deal with the suffering and the sacrifice
that an orthodox Christian makes in his personal life so we said
before that in principle the life of christ is the model of the life of the
christian man the christian must imitate the life of christ
and the life of christ goes through the cross so the christian will go
through the cross if he wants to go to the kingdom of god to go to the kingdom of god you go through the cross from the cross you will go to the resurrection and the
resurrection will put you in the kingdom of God then we have the Christian in his life, he also says the gospel, Christ says in
this world you will have tribulation and Saint Isaac the hero says a very important thing
he says that the spirit of God wants the spirit, that is, God wants
Christians in this life to have sadness and calamities He wants it
and one says why He wants it because this is the way I am the way
Christ says I am the way and since it is the way it is his way it is through
the cross that he goes to the resurrection and to the kingdom of God, so all of us will go through if we want to go to the kingdom of God and if we want to
be with God's people we will all go through suffering through the cross and
to each person God gives his own cross or he will give him an
illness or he will give him a great mental or physical sorrow or he will give him a
difficult a difficult spouse or he will give him his children to his children a
difficulty or to his work a difficulty with a difficulty anyway he will give him
a cross this cross now the Christian must bear with him
pick it up not throw it away and you see that those who divorce I bring an example
now what is happening in the lives of Christians today when many many couples divorce because they don't pick up each other's cross you have a difficult wife
you have a difficult husband instead of picking up your cross his cross you divorce him
while Christ wants you to patience to bear his difficulty
help him to overcome his own difficulty if you make him patient
to sanctify and he to sanctify and you to sanctify and he doesn't want the separation that's why many people tell me that Christ allows the
divorce he said he allowed it then in the old testament moses says because of our hard heart that is in essence why christ doesn't want it he wants
to endure man to bear with each other in marriage and
now we have many children many sick who suffer from various
diseases and endure they have physical physical
they are not healthy they have a big big cross in their life the sick the
quadriplegic the various in the various situations this
suffering that God allows in the life of the Christian
in essence what does this suffering cleanse him with the patience and
prayer that the sick person must have in this the cross that Christ has given him
is to help him be cleansed of his passions and to prepare him for the next life so if he accepts it eucharistically or without
grumbling and says this, God has allowed me to be blessed and take it
like a blessing and lift it up with thanksgiving this is the best position for it and it passes painlessly it suffers but it passes as
painlessly as possible this cross then and now you see that because
we must have a cross, many ascetics who do not have a cross,
God has not given them a cross, they invent a cross, one goes to a pole, another goes to a cave, another goes to the desert, they invent a difficult life, another is tied to me with ropes, another with
chains, why do they do this, they invent a cross to have sorrow out of love for
Christ, they do it, so the one who loves Christ does not throw away his cross , especially if he does not have he invents, this is terrible, so why is it that
through suffering and sacrifice for the love of God, for the love of Christ,
who was crucified without fault and took upon himself the sins of the whole
world, his human nature bore the sins of the whole world, thus he
endured, descended to the earth, in extreme humiliation, he went to hell to
save the living and the love of
Christ who did all this for the world for man, each one of us must take up his cross with patience and not grumble,
so this is the meaning of suffering, that is, it is a rescue
work which brings us, leads us, leads us finally to the peace of
Christ and to the kingdom of God, so the other question is how he can understand and accept and accept
suffering, how can the understanding and acceptance of suffering the Orthodox virology to offer comfort to those suffering from depression when one does when one
accepts this cross that one has for the love of god for the love of
to Christ this slowly brings health to his soul because
he does it with thanksgiving so when he sees it positively that is out of love for Christ and
he is patient he will not be depressed but if I grumble and take it hard that is he starts and complains and says why
should I suffer this and why this will lead him to depression because while
Christ has given him a way of life that will lead him to
his kingdom he wants to throw him away he doesn't want him but Christ gave him to you precisely because through the cross the one you have if you endure him you will live
with him forever if you don't endure him and want to throw him away or do you grumble or blame god because there is also theodicia so called theodicia i.e.
they blame god for doing this and he has brought into the world he allows and
one person suffers one evil and the other another evil and they blame god while while
god is not to blame for this man is mainly he is to blame for what happens
and god allows it and sometimes if god now
with his own will allows something to happen he does it again out of love
for education for education or for another deeper reason that he himself knows so
when someone believes in god and loves god he will know that
nothing happens by chance that what god allows if he endures this that
this difficulty that he will reach this end the happiness called
the kingdom of God so this is the answer here and then he says
faced with suffering and injustice in the world how does orthodox theology explain the participation of man in the saving work of Christ in order for
man to participate in the saving work of Christ he must reach a pure soul in holiness and then he will be able to help other
people and thus he will participate in the saving work of Christ becoming
that type of Christ and just like the Christ passed through a cross and
rose again and saved the world through the resurrection and the ascension and the
pentecost so also man when he is sanctified and imitates the life of Christ
through the grace that Christ will give him through the main road of the cross and resurrection from this savior he will also be able to
help in the work of Christ and then pray for the whole world in
every age there are some saints who they keep the world with their prayer in the time of Saint Nicodemus, Saint Nicodemus writes at one point that
in his time there were three who kept the world with prayer and knew each other by the grace of God, they knew one was, he says, in
Corinth, the other in Rome, and the other, I think, was Barsanuphius, so I don't remember who the other was, so
he participates in the saving work of Christ man when he reaches holiness and becomes Christ by grace
so we are done with four let's go to five number five okay he says
teachings of the fathers of the church and overcoming despair the teachings of the fathers of the church are relevant to the
fight against feelings of hopelessness and inner restlessness so the devil because he hates god he cannot hit god and he hits
his creation which is man the devil wants to he destroys every person he wants to destroy him and what does he do how the devil fights man
with reasonings for that reason and the reasonings you have to take over the spiritual that is the reasonings that bother someone and persist
over and over again the person must say them in the confessional in the spiritual they should go away because what comes to light to say it means it comes
to light that it comes to light it no longer has power so when the devil
fights man with calculations first of all, he tries to make him despair, to bring him despair, that is
, there is no hope that God will help him, this
is despair, after the next stage, despair is a greater form of
despair, despair brings him to his edge, that is, he closes
all the openings, he does not find a way out when he brings
him to despair, and then the other stage is if the person has no
faith in God and leaves himself to fall into despair and not he confesses his situation, he keeps it inside and the
devil locks him inside and doesn't let him say it, then it leads him to suicide
because he says to him now I'm going to drive you crazy with calculations, so when when a
person doesn't ask for spiritual help from a fellow human being, he should go and
externalize these things, get them out of him, ask for help, hope in God, read the gospel, read the lives of the saints, see that
everyone goes through a stage of despair and recognition,
God allows for the humiliation of man, so when this thing
is not dealt with properly, then it can lead to suicide, it is not just simple greed and inner anxiety, that is why you see many people kill themselves
because they do not have faith in God, they do not have a spiritual life, they do not participate in the life of the church, they do not confess their
problems, they do not say it and they try inwardly to they solve it or
they don't solve it at all and that leads them to a way out and they get there so all the fathers of the church say this that in order to combat the
feelings of hopelessness that is due to calculus it has to be done by agonizing the calculus ok so we said c that now let's go to the role
of prayer and liturgical practices in healing what is the role of prayer and liturgical practices
in healing the soul from emotional like anxiety and depression so the church helps man through the services
and apart from the prayer it does for the living and
it helps through the services and through the divine liturgy
mainly through the blessing oil through the confession which are healing
practices of the soul and for the therapy it helps the soul to heal but also
the man apart from what the church offers him must also have a life of prayer so that he helps himself through
prayer which is the conversation directly with the god and as we said before the mental
prayer is the most important, the mental prayer is of greater value than the
logical prayers that are done in the church apart from the divine liturgy the divine liturgy is not replaced so all the other prayers the logic
of the church can be replaced by the mental prayer with the knot
that is and so when a person has a life of prayer and participates in
the church services he participates in the divine liturgy and participates in the sta divine joy which take place
he also participates in the consecrations and in the communion
and above all he confesses regularly and communes with him
he helps him to heal his soul not only from emotional
disorders from from the passions that are the diseases of the soul and from anxiety
and depression and the main thing here too because you keep talking about anxiety and depression anxiety and depression its root cause is man's selfishness
and unbelief from these two comes when man has no
faith in God and he has a lot of ego then it is inevitable that he will fall into anxiety
and depression because he does not believe in God that he will help him that the church which is his body can help him and he does not seek to ask for
help from the church and because he has ego he tries to solve the problems by himself
and he cannot find a way out and thus he falls into a dead end and falls into depression and if he does not humble himself if
he does not humble himself to ask for help from the church from the spiritual one to go to confessing will go from despair to despair to suicide
that's where this leads so we have the church we have Christ who came and was crucified for us we have the church that gives us all this all this
help for free and we don't use this help while it's all right next to us all the churches offer this thing all the temples all all the
priests they help they help their flock this thing and we
we have to this thing no no no no we don't go to the church to ask for help from the church and we stay with the anxiety and
depression but we also go to whom we go to the psychotherapists and the
how do they say it to the a yes to the a with psychoanalysts and others the psychotherapist
and the psychoanalyst cannot help man because neither
do they believe in the existence of an immanent soul in man, science does not accept
a non-existent soul and psychology and psychotherapy and all these secular
secular practices do not have their foundation in the belief in the existence of an immortal soul in man, nor do
psychotherapists and psychoanalysts know which they are the diseases of the soul, they don't know these things, nor did we say they accept the existence of a soul, lives after
death, that the human soul is non-existent and lives on even after death, they don't accept these things, and while the church says the only doctor is the
Christ of souls and bodies, they think they are called psychotherapists, neither
do they know what the soul is, nor do they know how to heal a soul, only the fathers of the
church ascetic fathers who have healed their own soul, they know how to heal the soul and this healing of the
human soul is the preserve of the church, and the
lay people have as a foundation and as a guide the ascetic writings of the fathers
of the church and the monks who deal with the healing of the soul
systematically, so we have finished this, let's go to the next support of the ecclesiastical
community, what does it say here, how can the community support people who struggle with mental emotional disorders you will
send them to the spiritual to the spiritual you will send a person who has an emotional disorder and a mental disorder the spiritual the experienced and
enlightened is able to help any person as long as he believes in god and leaves himself in the hands of the spiritual the importance
of confession and divine communion the importance of the building of the whole
communion in the process of healing the soul that washes of hear fundamental this
is the healing the healing or the confession is the first excuse me a
moment before we get to the confession there are some other stages
before you don't go straight to the confession the first stage is to believe in god you believe in god that he exists the second is you believe in christ that christ
is god the third is that you believe in the orthodox church that it is the church of christ the fourth is that you must live with repentance be
baptized as an orthodox christian to you live with repentance and the fifth is when you have repentance then you go find the spiritual and make confession and
start to receive communion regularly and enter a healing treatment that
the church will give you for the sake of the spiritual so we don't go it is not the first stage confession must do all that we said before and
reach confession and receive communion regularly and then when you obey the
spiritual you have a life of prayer you confess regularly and communes
regularly then slowly the soul heals and goes away anxiety goes away
and depression I tell you and only with faith in God it can go away in a
moment if you say something is bothering you and tells you you are going to die or
etc. spiritual perspective how can the medical approach to mental
disorders be reconciled with the spiritual p cannot be reconciled because if p if here he means the medical approach if he means the physical
the the treatment of the body what does it mean
here the treatment of the body here number nine what does it mean it means the it
means the the physical the physical the it means the health of the
body he of the sou this they do not this is they contradict you see science
against church on the of therapy the science does not
ac the soul as been has been a creature that can live on its own I say it in
olives in Greek so science does not accept a non-existent soul in
man that lives even after the death of the body so since it does not believe and science thinks that the energy of the brain or that these mental
processes that occur in man all the mental manifestations they come from the brain they are functions of the brain this is
a big mistake and that the human self the human face is in the brain its seat is in the e big mistake the human face or
the human consciousness the human memory everything is in the soul everything is
in the soul the brain is an organ which be careful to see let's take it
more generally than before man is made in the image of god what
does the image of god mean that as god is mind reason spirit
father son holy spirit so also man is mind word spirit now
that I speak the word that I utter from my mouth where does it come from not from the
brain that science says from my soul from the mind which
is the eye of the soul the mind is the eye of the soul which continually produces
speech this speech which the mind produces as I speak now is taken by another
power of the soul called intellect which uses the brain as an instrument to process the speech and when it is processed the brain then
uses the southern medulla, you see the southern medulla and I move my hand
etc. and my mouth and the word is uttered through my mouth either verbally or I may not speak and write or figuratively as a movement so
these are not accepted by science that the word comes from the soul because it does not
believe in the existence of a soul it believes that everything is the result of the actions of the
brain this is a big mistake so the moment science has escaped from it it does not know the nature of man who is how it can
help heal the person and the psychotherapists as we said and all of them and psychoanalysts what are they doing they don't know how a human
soul works that's why the leading psychoanalysts today in France in
America say the solutions is to return to the fathers of the church they have
discovered the fathers of the church who analyze the human soul and the passions and the diseases of the human soul only the
ascetic fathers of of the church have approached this issue and now the
serious psychiatrists of an international scale are starting to approach the fathers
of the church to learn from them why they understand that they have midnight this is the answer i.e. it cannot medicine today's
science can not help to help a
person with a mental disorder to be cured but what does psychiatry do the following a psychiatrist does
when he sees a person with schizophrenia for example what does he cannot he intervenes in the soul because he neither accepts the existence of a soul nor
knows how the soul moves and how it heals what it does he only intervenes in the
body he gives a drug like this a tabor when he has insomnia he gives him a tabor so that he can sleep what does he do he intervenes in the body so that the body
helps it to start functioning normally and so when the body
is functioning normally that's how much the psychiatrist can do to help a mental patient start to return to
social life to be able to work and speak normally so but heal the human soul not only the spiritual can so the right the right
now spiritual if someone has schizophrenia he will send his spiritual child to the psychiatrist but to
help the body and then he will take over when the body
is able to function somewhat normally then in order to heal the soul the spiritual must take over the experienced spiritual in man the
psychiatrist and the psychotherapist they can never heal a human soul nor do they know what the human soul is nor do they know the
diseases only Christ is the physician of souls and bodies all the
tropes of the church say this unequivocally Christ is the physician
of souls and bodies nor does the spiritual heal the spiritual helps Christ helps through the spiritual since the spiritual child
obeys so the matter goes to 9 of 10 faith in god and the reduction of
fears is fundamental without faith in god man will live in
fear if you don't believe in god and especially in christ who is his son of God and does not believe in the word of Christ the fear of death will never
overcome it and will live and live the death of the soul because if you do not
believe you will necessarily experience the death of your soul that is you will experience the fear of death while with faith and with the life of sacramental life and with the
participation life of the church and with the synergy of grace with the help of the
grace of God the fear of death leaves man and leaves along with the fear of death, anxiety goes away and depression
goes away, we talked about it before, okay, so let's go, free will versus
destiny, there is no destiny in man, god knows what man will
do, but he does not predestinate him, he knows what he will do, but he is free and what he does, God follows him, thanks to grace, one who is alive in sin
follows him, and at the right moment, grace intervenes and saves him, just as it happened with the prodigal son, the prodigal son what did he do when he was free he left
his father's house and went and reached rock bottom he went and shepherded widows
and got involved with prostitutes and at some point when he was humbled and hit rock bottom then grace helped him and a good account came to him from God and
he says look look I was I was a king's child in my father's house
I lost everything look how I became and then he came in repentance he was given
that is, the grace of repentance is given to the sinner by the grace of repentance from God when he is humiliated and this is how God saves man, so
God knows what we will do, he does not predestinate us but helps us at the right
time to come to him, okay, so this is second, 12 salvation from the
orthodox perspective, what does salvation mean and the acquisition of the map, the right path
and how it differs from the logical interpretations from the others, yes, salvation exists only in the orthodox church because why the church
founded by Christ on Pentecost is preserved from ancient
times, the ancient church, that is, from the apostolic times, is the orthodox
church, protestantism with all the sand dunes, all the protestants and the protestant area
belong to the sects, they have escaped, they are not among the church the
same and the same and the papacy the Latin the Roman Catholicism is also
a great heresy it has 15 doctrinal and theological clearances and it also belongs to the area of
sects so the grace of God and the mysteries of God do not exist in these
situations that is the heretical doctrines also the grace of
God does not exist in schism when there is a schism in the church and this and this and this and
this a schismatic part is cut off from the church, this is what the fathers say, so we have valid sacraments, we only have them in the orthodox church, and these are
holy baptism, one must be baptized in the pool with the third deposit, so that he can then begin to partake of the body and
blood of Christ, and so on, so that he has a spiritual way of entering into the life of the church, etc. So, what does salvation mean
? may one find the health of his soul may he receive the grace of God may the
grace of God come back which we lost due to the fall with the ascetic
struggle prayer the sacramental life the grace of God returns to man
and the soul begins and rises slowly the soul rises just as when the light in the evening begins slowly on the horizon and rises and illuminates
and then at some point the sun bursts in the east so does the soul when it struggles and with the tears of repentance, man cleans
his soul, he slowly rises up inside himself and feels the resurrection, it is an experience, he feels this resurrection inside him and at some point the sun bursts out
and he feels the resurrection of the soul, when he reaches a pure heart, he feels the resurrection of the soul, which is an amazing experience and this is a foretaste of the
kingdom of God, so salvation is for someone to reach it the foretaste
of
the
kingdom .
soul at the time of death if you do not share in the life of God you will not enter the
kingdom of God this is clear so salvation is the foretaste of the kingdom of God which begins in this life and continues in the next in
fullness so there goes this too and after the 13 is the answer of the
orthodox tradition the modern ethical challenges how can the tradition and
doctrine answer ethical and ethical challenges such as
biotechnology is not ethical these are are wrong expressions
so they are today today the new challenges are the technology implants
, etc., look at the new things, it wants to destroy
the human being, to lead it to the transhumanism that we call it, and it tries to destroy, that is, it destroys the human
face and tries to make it do the a person who is God
made us persons to make him a person to make him a person i.e. to depersonalize him
the man who lives in sin and has no repentance lives as a person he lives for himself for himself in his selfishness he is
a person when he comes to repentance he becomes a person this was explained by Saint Sophronius
very clearly so because God is a person the man who enters into
repentance makes him a person the day of repentance and the person begins and becomes a person and talks with God the person means to talk to another person
so to see the other person and to talk with him when you are a person you only look at yourself you don't look at anyone else you are isolated to yourself
as a person you are a number you are not a person and they are going to make us now people give us a number so that they depersonalize us they make us
robots they make us because they want us to be like us manipulate
them to do what we want and if we are persons they cannot do that if we are persons because we have freedom we have free will we have from
God this freedom this powerful ability to choose but if they cut us off this possibility to think like persons
and they make us individuals then they will make us like machines like robots this is what they want to pursue but the church has this possibility through the grace of
God and the repentance that Christ gives to man to keep man as a person and not to become man to become a person
but he must have repentance to live to live in the grace of god that is the answer here so we don't care what elon musk does with robots and
all that and that's the technology is good but when used for a good purpose the computer is good but how you use when
you use it to watch porn it destroys you when you use it to do what we are doing now it helps you so now we go to the
last monasticism and interfaith dialogue how can the orthodox m contribute to interfaith dialogue in the matin and
tradition of the world take care to see we said the orthodox church is the only genuine church of christ so are the other religions the others are
religions christianity is a revelation it is not a religion religion is a human construct or a
construct of the demon so what i mean the black man in africa sees the sun and
makes it a god and worships it and makes the totem so this is a religion that man invents the demon can also invent
a religion how how is that done the buddha was a nobleman and he wanted to find
wisdom but he was prone to demonic energy and now the devil appears to him as an angel of light and teaches him what Buddhism says which
is completely demonic teaching all this because they see
demons and have demonic possessions can the Buddhist the monk take a glass of water and make it boil or rise in the air but this is by
the power of the devil just like magicians do david copperfield what did he not rise all that he did is all magic with the power of satan
it is with demonic energy we are not interested us and the devil does so off, that is, cerf, what did he do, show off, he disappeared cars and so did
the other one, the mahar, or what was the name of a guru in India who made
me with the sand, he made cookies like that and gave, so I tell him and I say now if he can make cookies and feed the world
, why doesn't he, the Indians are hungry, all of India is hungry, why, why doesn't he feed all of India with the cookies then so then we also have
demonic we have religions that are demonic efer demonic demonic with
demonic construction the same thing happened to Mohammed the mame what did Mohammed see he saw the devil again as an angel of light and he says he saw the archangel gabriel fairy tales
so he saw the devil and the devil taught him what the koran says because if he saw the archangel gabriel where would the archangel
gabriel lead him to christ would he lead him i mean what is he doing now the mohammedanism is attacking christianity that is why he is slaughtering the christians so
what happens to mohammed is not from god nor was mohammed ascended and these
tales mohammed's body is on earth is nothing and mohamedanism it is pure stupidity if you compare it that is if
you compare it with the Christian teaching it is like the difference between heaven
and earth Buddhism on the other hand has a spirituality but it is a demonic spirituality and has nothing to do with the true god because
Buddhism and Hinduism believe in an impersonal god there is no such god the universe they say is he the true god is a person
I am half of him he says to Moses I am the one who exists, I exist, and
God speaks to him, that is, Christ, that is, in the old testament, so you see, we have a
personal God, the true God is personal, he is a person, so that's what we have, that's what religions are, so they're either man-made
or demonic-made and they don't save, there's no salvation there, because salvation is victory over death only in Christ, only Christ defeated
death, that's why everyone has gone crazy now the new age and new order put
against the face of Christ and Yuval Harari says that who
is an antichrist type of the antichrist what does Harari say that Christ is the son of God and that he rose from the dead is fake news
so this is a great blasphemy and this is what all these
modern channels are taking now and doing this what do they do they put it out as
a message that therefore because Christ is true god and the only one who
gives life and the only one who resurrects the soul of man they have all been put in now this new order of things which is all of them is this
demonic mess to strike against the orthodox church and
christ and what has happened now unfortunately we said that the orthodox church is
the only true church now it has been happening since the beginning since the time of
of Christ because the devil is fighting this church the church of Christ to enter heresies begin to appear first was
Arianism the Arian who said that Christ is a creature not a god and
he was swept away this heresy is gone so Christ brings out two or three
great saints in every heresy and they cleanse and free the church from the heresy so he brought forth the great Athanasius great kingdom Saint Nicholas
Saint Spyridon and Arnissios left then came the others came monothelitism Saint Maximus the Confessor come the kiss we have the great torch we have
the fallacy of the valm we have Gregory Palamas and all this then comes
Nestorianism which says that the Virgin Mary gave birth to a man she did not give birth to and
called her christ interest nestorius so we have a third ecumenical council so all this the church Christ that is through the church deals with it
he uses two or three great saints of the time and and and and the likes of
these are completely disappearing now the current heresy the big one that has lasted 100 years and more is that of the
e e e the of ecumenism the ecumenism is said to be
an abrogation that is because it considers as its basis the theory of the branches which says
that every religion and every confession has a part of the truth that is
big lie the truth is only in the orthodox church there is no part of the truth somewhere else it can be also
the ancient Greeks had it but it was a prototype they had the seed word so there is no part of the truth you will have the complete truth or you will not
have it so the orthodox church the truth of the orthodox church is thus
founded on the revelation of god which revelation of god is reflected in the holy scripture the holy scripture is not the foundation of the orthodox
teaching the foundation of the orthodox teaching is the experience of deification where you see god is the revelation of god the holy scripture itself
is a record of the experiences of god just as we have a record of the holy transfiguration of christ in the gospel according to john
so it is not we have the record it is not the description of the transformation the transformation transformation itself is an event that
happens then and which revelation of Christ continues through time in the church every day, all the living saints of the time all see
Christ, so we have a timeless revelation of God and even after the incarnation in the person of Christ in history, so we have only
the Orthodox Church which is the true church of Christ which
saves and heals man, everything else is they are sects and
you cannot have inter-religious dialogue or inter-Christian
dialogue with the other sects and confessions because the other religions have no truth so what to have a dialogue, that is, the healthy with the
sick, what dialogue should they have, that is, they go to find each other, they cannot find that there is a common line between the lie and the truth or you will
be with the truth or you will not be with the truth, you cannot be in the lie and get part of the lie and to catch it with the hand of a falcon, the
liar is not done, so all this inter-religious dialogue is a
conversation which a discussion which leads nowhere and also
ecumenism leads nowhere, it is, we said, a heresy which when the time comes, Christ will solve it, he will persecute it as it happens and with the
iconoclasm it lasted 150 years 120 years it lasted too long and iconoclasm
and so came the ecumenism with Saint Theodora who did what she did
and it was abolished or what is it called iconoclasm so after 15 we have the understanding of the mystery of the holy trinity how can the
mystery of holiness be understood
that goes beyond human logic so the understanding of the
mysteries in principle says Saint Isaac hero just as we have two eyes of the body
we also have two eyes of the soul when man reaches a pure
soul then god first opens his one mental eye with this mental
eye he sees the mysteries of the acquisition of nature this is called the theory of beings
here you see around us we have trees we have flowers we have grass all these
in every leaf in every bird in every fish in the sea in every star
all these are hidden mysteries nature is full of hidden these mysteries
this is also in every mystery in every building in every creation the reason
i.e. the reason that exists the cause the cause that exists is the reason
of yes the reason of is a word that means the reason of the existence of this this reason of the existence of every building is revealed its mystery
that is it is revealed only with the grace of God the wise Solomon had been given
to the wise Solomon had been given to have this wisdom the revelation of the theory of beings and the fathers say in fact Saint Joseph the Caveman says
that the theory of beings is the first revelation that God will give to
man when he wants to reveal his mysteries to him God gives him the theory of the ones which he says is of the beginners Grandpa Joseph says so well then well
then when God opens your mental eye the one you see the
theory of beings i.e. you see the reasons for the existence of beings and in an experience of grace man can see it see all creation
glorifying God when in this theory when he acts on man with the grace of
God what does man do he sees all creation glorifying at this point he had arrived he had arrived saint Siluanus had seen this theory and
he explains it he explains it he says every little flower says every every grass glorifies God and this same experience was had by Saint Porphyrios the same
experience was also had by the elder Ephraim the Philotheist so this is the first the first step of the theory the second step is when
God opens your right eye the other mental eye and then you see act
in the light the uncreated light is the light the energy of God the energy of the
Holy Spirit which God reveals when He wills to whomever He wills but
usually in order to get to see it you have to get to a pure
soul and Abba Isaac says that in a natural way man will get to see
the light of God when his soul is healed when both his mental eyes
are healed and as he says the physical eyes can't see the light if they have a disease but you don't have a cataract you see darkness your eye
can't see the light but when the surgeon treats your cataract and removes the scale from above that prevents the light from entering then
you see the light i.e. when the physical eye is healed you see the light of the
sun similarly when the mental eye is healed the two mental eyes then you see the
light of god naturally you don't ask for it by itself so why don't we see it because we don't have a pure soul and furthermore
why doesn't god allow it now because god doesn't want us to see
his light here because he will oblige us and he is a lord and he doesn't want to deprive us of our freedom if you want you can believe him because all the unbelievers and
atheists if god showed them his light that shone in the tabor they would immediately believe don't they they could deny it since it's a terrible experience
so that God doesn't force you to accept him but he doesn't show you now and he wants you to be saved by faith and when will he show you knowledge that is from
faith when will he lead you to knowledge when you believe and reach a pure heart,
may the pure heart that this god is overlooked when he reaches a pure heart then god will show you his light before he wants you to be saved by faith he doesn't
show you at the beginning so you must believe, you have traveled, you have learned, all
the nations are baptized in them in the name of the father and the son and the holy spirit, you believe the baptist is saved, says the gnos, the
believer is in the word of the apostles in the word of the gospel and he will be baptized
in the holy pool and he will live with repentance in his life and he will reach with
his ascetic struggle and prayer to a pure soul, he will see God
when he reaches a pure soul, so then he will know God, that is why
Saint Sophronius explains very clearly what happens when a person sees the
light that is the light of God and describes it there very beautifully, he says
that it is like this, like this, because he has seen it, and it is a testimony of
the knowledge of God, and then let God show it to you. God begins to live and he
shows you when he gives you the prayer in here in the heart he begins and shows you mysteries so for a greater reason when you see the kti in the light you begin then and
you see you now participate permanently in the breakfast of God and you live from here the
kingdom of God to the extent that God gives you this experience and
life so what else did I want to say and I finish that yes
that yes says Saint Sophronius that when you see the act, this light
goes together with what it shows you and that Christ is God, that is, the divinity
of Christ is confirmed by the act of light, and in fact Job says that when you see
the saints, so that God may bring you to the extreme humiliation, so rather when you see the
ati in the light, then you reach the extreme humiliation and you really understand what your nature is, that you are dust and ashes says Job before
I heard he says about you now that I have seen you or earth with him says hun hun and why do you study I think I am dust and dust that is why the saints say and
grandfather Joseph used to tell him that man is dust and ashes your nature is dust and ashes you can do nothing without the grace of God and this
you experience it when you see the uncreated light that you are dust and ashes you experience it with
the sense of your soul that is to say it becomes your experience it becomes an absolute
one of knowledge you know this so when you see your ati the light you have the
experience that you are nothing and at the same time you see the greatness of god and you compare yourself who is nothing with the greatness of god and
there you marvel and the fathers of theologians say that seeing you shine the light
because it is indescribable because it doesn't look like anything you know the unknown we go to apophatic theology you know the unknown God i.e. you see him
you see a miracle an amazing phenomenon in front of you you admire it but you can't understand what it is and you know unknown to God and
that is you know the mysteries of God in a way that is unknown and cannot be conveyed in language the apostle Paul when he went to the this
sky and he saw it hear it in the light then he could not speak and say what he saw because the human language cannot convey the things of the sky
these things ok
